COMFORT ZONES
Studio Articolore, Walla Walla, WA
January 18 - March 9, 2018
Comfort Zones is a two-person exhibition featuring artists Rachel Smith and Juventino Aranda exploring how discomfort is navigated. Both artists are captivated by the power of certain materials and images to produce a sense of collective nostalgia. This sense of collective familiarity is deconstructed and re-combined in ways that distort information to provoke unease. The exhibition is a conversation about the complexities and entanglements that surround popular culture, historical information, and nostalgic longing.
